Historic National Conference & New Leadership Elected

The Popular Front for Democracy (PFD) is a legally registered and operational political organization in Lesotho. After three years of establishment, PFD held its historic national executive committee conference to elect new leadership and chart the path forward.

Following the successful elections at the national conference held at Leqele High School, the newly elected leadership was formally announced to the nation. On May 24, 2025, newly elected Party Leader Advocate Thato Moleli embarked on a comprehensive tour of Hlotse and the surrounding communities. This was an important engagement aimed at connecting with the people and understanding their needs and concerns.

On June 22, 2025, PFD's leadership committee organized dedicated community meetings across Hlotse to formally present the party leader to community members and engage in meaningful dialogue about local concerns and national development priorities.

Party Leader Celebrates Birthday with Vulnerable Children & Completes Community Project

Birthday Celebration with St. Paul's School for the Deaf

On August 23, 2025, Party Leader Advocate Thato Moleli celebrated his birthday in a special and meaningful way. Rather than a conventional celebration, he chose to spend the day with children living with deafness from St. Paul's School for the Deaf, demonstrating the party's commitment to inclusion and care for vulnerable members of society.

  • Sports Activity: A special soccer match was organized to celebrate the occasion and bring joy to the children

Community Housing Project Completed

Beyond the birthday celebration, Party Leader Advocate Thato Moleli and his team also undertook an important community service project. They successfully renovated and completed repairs on a grandmother's house that was in dire condition. The home had been suffering from significant deterioration, particularly during the rainy season, making it unsafe and uninhabitable.

The leadership team invested considerable time and resources to ensure the house was properly repaired and restored. This project exemplified PFD's commitment to not just talking about change, but actively implementing it through concrete action that improves the lives of ordinary Basotho people.

Nationwide Youth Cleanup Campaign & Community Development Initiative

As part of its commitment to community development and youth engagement, PFD launched an ambitious two-week cleanup and community development campaign in Hlotse District. The initiative aimed to address pressing social challenges affecting young people while simultaneously improving the physical environment and community infrastructure.

  • Provide alternatives to legal troubles and criminal activity

  • Improve the physical cleanliness and appearance of communities
